Discover the mythical route of the "Tour des Alpages" race

The route crosses three alpine pastures and passes through the herds. This itinerary promises you multiple landscapes and a breathtaking view of the Valaisan summits.

The tour of the alpine pastures begins at the cable car parking lot, with a fairly steep climb of about 3 km (400 m of ascent) to the Brune.

The next 7 km pass through three of the region's mountain pastures. The first is the Tsalan d'Arbaz mountain pasture, then the path climbs to the Duez mountain pasture, then continues almost flat to the Serin mountain pasture, with its modern dairy.

The return journey begins by following the Bisse de Sion, a historic irrigation canal built between 1901 and 1903 to bring water from the river "la Lienne" to the surrounding cattle farming areas.

Every year in July the Tour des Alpages takes place. The Trail follows the same route as the Tour des Alpages with a length of 17 km and 650m of positive difference in altitude, which provides good training for the Tour des Alpages race. More information and registration on www.tourdesalpages.ch
