His first desire was to become a comic strip artist. With the support of Claude Derib, he was able to attend the École de Saint-Luc in Brussels for a few months in the comics section. Claude Renard and François Schuiteny were teaching. After meeting Jean Perrin in Lutry, a graphic designer and creator of animated films for TSR, Yves apprenticed as a graphic designer, in an environment of dreams, both literally and figuratively. Two years creating motifs for screen printing at Lornic SA led him to become a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in 1989. Between 2008 and 2015, he worked with the Paint A Smile Foundation, creating frescoes for children in hospitals around the world. Since September 2017, he has been a cartoonist for the Journal de Morges, with a comic strip on regional news illustrated by the "Julie Rondelle" series.
