Sion-Tseuzier
From Sion station, warm up for about 6km along the Rhône to St-Léonard. Leaving the village of St-Léonard, you first cross an exceptional vineyard dotted here and there with fig trees and rose bushes. It is not uncommon to hear the cicadas singing during the summer which gives these first kilometers of ascent a little air of Provence.
From Botyre, the landscape changes becoming more alpine and the road gradually becomes narrower. The panorama offered allows you to discover the highest Valais peaks as you climb towards one of the only dams located on the right bank of the Rhône.
On arrival at the top, the clear waters of Lake Tseuzier are enough to comfort the most exhausted of cyclists and the view of the Rawyl pass that you can guess at the bottom of the valley, makes you forget all the efforts made from St. Leonardo.
