Centrale of pellet heating
An important environmental measure was the creation of the pellet factory, located at the west entrance of Anzère, coming from Arbaz.
Markus Mann is responsible for the initiative for this clean and sustainable energy project. The Mann family has owned an apartment in Anzère since 1972.
The problem of all these apartments built in the mid-1960s is identical: the oil heating systems are obsolete and must be replaced.
The idea of going back to systems using polluting and non-renewable fossil fuels was unimaginable for this pioneer of clean energies. Markus Mann therefore put his energy, his knowledge and funds into the realization of this project.
Indeed, it is the largest pellet fired central heating plant in Europe and allows the station to save more than 1.5 million liters of fuel oil per year by ecologically heating most of the buildings in the village as well as the Spa & Wellness centre.
