Bisse de Claveau
The hike starts off from the village of St-Romain and finishes to the north of Sion. The Bisse de Clavau provides a panoramic view of the valley and the famous terraced vineyards. It was built in 1453 to irrigate the vineyards and is still in use today. It overlooks the Rhône Valley between Sion and St-Léonard. The section through the Lienne gorge is wonderful and provides views right over the river. An educational trail highlights the location’s wealth of natural beauty. This bisse is very popular as it is close to the town and the hike is easy to complete. Two snack bars (Le Cube at the Varone wine estate and La Guérite Brûlefer at the Bonvin estate) provide ideal spots for light refreshments before continuing your walk.
Possibility to take the bus at several stops of the route.
