Bisse of Torrent-Neuf

An interesting path from Prafirmin to the Chapelle Sainte Marguerite. Constructed before 1430, the bisse du Torrent Neuf or bisse de Savièsewas to become  the most daring enterprise ever undertaken for irrigation purposes. It is sourced from the Morge, leaving  the gorge by a very precipitous andundulating path, supplying a very abundant supply of water.

This walk covers a distance of 2.4 kilometres along an elevated path which has been newly restored. The purpose of this type of renovation work is to remind us of the scope of the task undertaken by our forefathers.
